Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Dale Lamon Good, 42, (DOB: 02/16/1979), of Westland, in connection with a car crash that killed Vanessa Simmons, 46, of Detroit

On December 15, 2019, at approximately 11:11 p.m., the defendant was driving northbound in the southbound lanes on the M-10 freeway near the I-75 freeway in Detroit. It is alleged that the defendant was intoxicated and driving at a high rate of speed when he collided head-on with the victim, entrapping both parties in their vehicles.

Members of the Detroit Fire Department (DFD) were able to extract both parties from their vehicles. Medics arrived on scene and transported Defendant Good and Ms. Simmons to a local hospital for treatment. Ms. Simmons later succumbed to her injuries.

Dale Lamon Good has been charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder, one count of Reckless Driving Causing Death, and one count of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death. *

WCPO was not informed of the arraignment after the proceedings were held today. The defendant was arraigned this morning in 36th District Court and given a $50,000/10% bond and an alcohol tether. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for November 17, 2021 and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for November 24, 2021 in 36th District Court before Judge Roberta Archer.
