Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Roderick Phillips, 50, DOB (06/16/1970), of Inkster in connection with the fatal shooting of his brother, Michael Phillips, 57, (DOB: 09/14/1963), also of Inkster.

On March 13, 2021, at approximately 11:47 p.m., a Dearborn dispatcher sent an ambulance to a residence in the 2600 block of Ross Street in Inkster. Inkster police were dispatched to the location and upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Phillips laying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the chest. Medical assistance was rendered by the Inkster Fire Department, but the victim succumbed to his wound. It is alleged that an argument between the defendant and the victim escalated and the defendant fatally shot his brother.

Roderick Phillips was charged with Second Degree Murder and Felony Firearm. * He was arraigned yesterday in 22nd District Court. His Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for March 24, 2021 in 22nd District Court. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Inkster Police Department.
