Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Paul Clifton McColor, 53, (DOB: 04/20/1968), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Saad Hanna Halabo, 53, of West Bloomfield.

On March 18, 2022, at approximately 4:16 p.m., Michigan State police officers were dispatched to a check cashing store in the 13930 block of Woodward Avenue in Highland Park for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim inside the store, deceased, with a gunshot wound to the face.

It is alleged that the defendant entered the employee area of the store and had an argument with the victim. He then fired a handgun, fatally wounding the victim, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Michigan State Police led to the arrest of the defendant on March 19, 2022.

Paul Clifton McColor has been charged with one count of Felony Murder, one count of Larceny, two counts of Felony Firearm, and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. *

Defendant McColor was arraigned and remanded to jail this afternoon in 30th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for March 29, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Brigette Officer Holley. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Michigan State Police.
