Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged a juvenile male, 17, (DOB: 06/04/2004), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Dajon Williams, 26, also of Detroit.

On September 8, 2021, at approximately 8:41 p.m., in the 8080 block of Grandville Street in Detroit, it is alleged that the defendant opened fire on the victim's vehicle. The victim was able to drive away from the scene to a nearby gas station. At approximately 8:48 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a gas station in the 17690 block of Joy Road in Detroit for reports of a vehicle blocking the entryway to the gas station. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim inside the vehicle bleeding and unresponsive. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The juvenile has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder - Juvenile Defendant, one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Carrying with Unlawful Intent, one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and three counts of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned on October 23, 2021 in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for November 3, 2021 in 36th District Court before Judge Kenneth King. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.
