Announcing the Brian L. Morrow Community Scholarship Event on August 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
Mr. Morrow was the Deputy Chief of the Juvenile Unit in the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office at the time of his passing in August 2019. During his distinguished career he created and implemented the nationally recognized "Teen Court" program that gives teens who commit minor offenses a second chance to avoid criminal charges and turn their lives around. The State Bar of Michigan named Mr. Morrow a "Champion of Justice" for his work on the program and stated that he "has done more over the last decade to keep Michigan teens from lives of crime that anyone else in the state."
The scholarship continues his dedication to Michigan Youth. It rewards the initiative of students who have been actively involved in their community service projects and who desire to continue their education at the college or university level. Students applying for the scholarship are pursuing a two-year program, four-year program or trade school post high school who have demonstrated a commitment to public service and the impact it has made on the individual's own journey.
